After two years and one kid, we went back to Paris for good! We were very happy to be in Paris again, not only for the city, but also because we were able to have a long relaxing weekend all together before daddy went back to the USA for a month.
We decided to stay in Montmartre, also known as The Mountain of Martyrs. This is the place Anna and Alice loved the most the first time and they specifically asked us to get a place there – see also here.
They wanted to take the train around Montmartre again, which was really fun. Aurora and Alice enjoyed it a lot and they did not want to get off any more! After our train ride, we strolled around to visit the area and to explore all the charming neighbourhoods. We loved the cute pink restaurant “La Maison Rose” which has become one of the iconic corners in Montmartre and the picturesque streets around it.
We went back to the basilica of Sacre-Coeur and this time we climbed the 300 steps to the top for the most extraordinary view of the whole city. The girls wanted to stop in the big area in front of the cathedral, to see the street performers which were remarkable! We stayed there over an hour and they could not stop watching them and cheering at them. Aurora was totally captured by their performances.
In Montmartre we could see another Paris icon: The Art Nouveau Metro stations. We stopped by Lamarck-Caulaincourt which is located in a buzzy part of the neighbourhood with a real village feel. We ended up our tour of Montmartre to the Moulin Rouge. Last time the girls had a blast playing with the air coming up from the metro station and they wanted to go back there for playing again.
That is all for now! We hope you enjoyed our reportage from Paris and … à bientot!
