Middle East has always held a very strong attraction for us, but till this year, we hadn’t had the chance for indulging on it. Daddy’s fiftieth birthday, combined with one of the longest Easter holiday breaks ever, gave mom the perfect excuse!
On Friday before Easter, we took a plane destination Dubai where we spent 10 incredible days – you can still see the daily reports on our IGTV! Dubai is a holiday paradise, we dare saying especially for kids! It’s a “never stopping” city, full of many wonders and different tourist attractions: beautiful beaches, timeless deserts, incredible theme parks, modern shopping malls, old traditional districts and some of the world’s tallest buildings.
This would have been enough to fill our available days, but mom had been recommended to go and see also Abu Dhabi, so she kept one day specifically for it. And we are very happy to have done so! This captivating emirate is with no doubt worth the trip – which, by the way, it is only one-and-a-half-hour drive from Dubai.
Abu Dhabi is rich in culture and heritage, full of luxury hotels, fine restaurants and stunning attractions. We focused on two of them: the Emirate Palace and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Clad in Macedonian pure white marble, this beautiful building is Abu Dhabi’s landmark and by far the most popular sightseeing attraction in the city. This is where we took the pictures that you see below.
We left Dubai with the clear idea of going back within 5 years and the certainty that we will find a very different city. They are already building the Dubai of the future and if you consider that ten years ago there was almost nothing apart from the desert, we can’t imagine what they will be able to realise!
